PRC Issues Advisory Opinion on USPS Proposal for Retail Post Office Closures

On 7/27/2011, as required by law, the Postal Service submitted a proposal to the PRC (Postal Regulatory Commission) regarding changes that would change the nature of postal services on either a nationwide or substantially nationwide basis. Essentially the Postal Service had identified over 3,650 post offices (i.e. stations, branches retail annexes) that it wanted to discontinue for a combination of cost, efficiency and overall optimization reasons.
